Bible comic books

About a year ago, Brett came across the Kingstone Bible Comics, and found that they were looking to translate them into as many languages as they could. So, we found out what we needed to do and started translating. The Kingstone Comics have 70 volumes, covering Genesis to Revaluation. Needless to say that is a lot. So we decided to start with the 12 Christ volumes, going from the birth of Jesus, through His resurrection.

As we translate and get them printed we will donate them to schools in our ministry area. The school have agreed to use them as part of the regular curriculum. That means every child in the area will HAVE to read these Bible comics as part of their school work. We're able to do these because there are so few things for the kids to read in the local tribal language (Ibaloi) and not a lot for them even in the National Language (Tagalog).
In addition to this, we plan to sell them to other ministries, Church or Christion schools outside our ministry area. The goal being that once we get started it will be self sustaining.

Search and Rescue

Brett has always had a passion for rescue related things. So giving that the Philippines has many disasters every year. Earthquakes, Typhoons, Flooding and Landslides, there is a real need for those willing and able to deploy at a moments notice. The team has deployed to two major disasters in years past, but in those cases if was Disaster relief.

Brett's dog is a certified SAR (search and rescue) dog. So the team will transition from relief to SAR work. This means the team will deploy much sooner, as SAR takes place within the first 72 hours, after that its recovery and relief.
This transition means a change of equipment, as well as learning new skills.

Right now the search team is, Brett and Zuma (Brett's dog), Jason, Edgar, and Jair Paul (a former member of the ministry who is now working in campus ministry in a neighboring Provence). They are working to increase the team to 8 when they can.
